Wisdom is extremely important to anyone who wishes to do well in life. Wisdom is “understanding what is true.” From that definition, we can understand why wisdom is important in this life.
In the long ago, Solomon addressed the importance of wisdom. He wrote in Prov. 3:13, “Happy is the man who finds wisdom...” Since wisdom is understanding truth, we can understand the wisdom of his statement. Solomon continued in Prov. 4:7, “Wisdom is the principle thing, therefore, get wisdom.” Solomon saw that gaining of wisdom as a top priority of life.
Solomon told us why wisdom is so important in life. He wrote in Prov. 4:12, “When we walk, your steps will not be hindered, and when you run, you will not stumble.” So, it is wisdom that helps us navigate life.
But what if you lack wisdom? The Bible answers that in Jas. 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all literally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
