With all the sickness around us, some words from Solomon may prove valuable. Solomon wrote in Pro. 17:22, "A merry heart does good, like medicine..." Anytime we face illness, our attitude plays a part in our recovery. If we allow ourselves to get down and depress, our recovery may take longer. If we keep a positive attitude, recovery should come quicker (or at least be easier).
Solomon continued in Prov. 18:14, "The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, but who can bear a broken spirit?" Doctors will admit a person's attitude influences their recovery or improvement in illness. A positive or good attitude is better for all.
But what if the illness is incurable? Attitude still is important. The better the attitude, the easier it is to endure the illness. Remember the words of scripture in 1 Pet. 5:7, "Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."
