As we saw last week, some try to bring God down to the level of humans. But we have others who criticize God as not being as scripture describes him. This is not wise.
We read in Ps. 111:2-4 "The works of the Lord are great, studied by all who have pleasure in them. His work is honorable and glorious, and His righteousness endures forever. He has made his wonderful works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and full of compassion." We are not certain who wrote this, but many believe it was David. Why is that important? Because everything in David's life did not go smoothly. Before he became king, he spent several years on the run. After he became king, Davids family life was a mess.
If David wrote this, he chose to concentrate on the good things God did in his life, not the bad things that others did. Yes, God punished David for his sin, but David knew the goodness of God always outweighs the bad things that come in life.
