Generally, a new year begins with hope and anticipation. Hope that the year will be a good one and anticipation of new opportunities for the year. Yet, none of us knows what a year will hold. It may be a mix of good and bad, or more one than another. So, what do we do? There are several things that can help us
First, begin and continue the year with prayer. Paul wrote in 1 Thes. 5:17, “Pray without ceasing.” Why? Because we read in Jas. 5:16, “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” Continual prayer keeps us in contact with God.
Second, no matter what, keep trusting God. Solomon wrote in Prov. 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will will direct your paths.” Whether good or bad comes, trust God to see you though.
Connie and I wish you a very Happy New Year!
