Paul instructs us in Rom. 12:1, "...that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service."  Paul explains this in 1 Cor. 6:20, "For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which is God's."  By the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, God paid the price for our sins and made us His.  Because such a price was paid for us, God expects certain things from us.

First, we are to give our bodies in service to Christ.  We live in our body, and it is within that body we live our life.  God expects Christians to be living examples of Christ for the world to see.  It is not enough to claim we are Christians, we must show others we are Christians.

Second, the spirit is the internal working of a human.  The spirit guides the body, so it is important that one's spirit is fully committed to Christ, so the body can demonstrate that resolve.

God bought us in Christ.  May we live so as to glorify Him.
